So the rules have been defined, but what is the plan? Well there are a lot of things that we are going to be looking in to with this experiment. The main thing we will measure is the power to achieve high rankings with no followed links, just Google + metrics such as +1′s, shares and how many people put us in their circles.
We will be doing a month on month analysis of how fast posts become indexed and what positions they achieve, slowly aiming for more and more competitive keywords. Hopefully as our Google + authority increases there will be a correlation between the speed in which we can achieve rankings for key terms.
As an example below is a graph showing some basic Google + metrics over 12 months and what we hope the correlation would look like, for metrics vs ranking influence.
We will more than likely record some different metrics to the ones shown in the example graph above but we intend to paint a month on month picture, ending up with twelve months worth of valuable data and a case study that will prove just how much influence Google + has on rankings.
We believe that Google is giving more influence than it is letting on and we intend to prove it.
